Multiple Java Developers - Contract

Location - London (Hybrid)

Day rate - up to £850pd inside IR3

A global investment bank is looking to grow their Risk function with multiple Senior Back End Java Developers. The successful Senior Back End Java developers will be responsible for delivering scalable, enterprise-grade applications within a complex technology environment.

This is a hands-on senior engineering role where you'll play a key part in designing, developing and evolving modern backend services, influencing technical direction while working alongside talented engineers on business-critical systems.

What you'll be doing

• Develop enterprise backend applications using Java and Spring Boot
• Design and build scalable microservices
• Develop RESTful APIs
• Drive backend architecture and technical design
• Optimise application performance and scalability
• Mentor and support other developers
• Lead code reviews and engineering best practice
• Work closely with business and technical stakeholders
• Contribute to CI/CD and automated deployment
• Support production systems and continuous improvement

What we're looking for

• Strong commercial Java development experience
• Spring Boot and Microservices
• REST API development
• SQL and database design
• Oracle experience
• Unix or Linux
• JUnit and automated testing
• Git version control
• Kafka or RabbitMQ (desirable)
• AWS, Azure or GCP exposure (desirable)
• CI/CD and DevOps practices
• Excellent communication skills
• Experience mentoring developers and leading technical initiatives
