Mid-Level Data Scientist | Full-time | Onsite

Location: Derby (5 days onsite)

Salary: £35,000–£50,000

SC Clearance: Must be eligible for SC Clearance

We’re looking for a Mid-Level Data Scientist to join a forward-thinking AI & Data Consultancy delivering innovative, data-driven solutions for clients.

This is a great opportunity for someone with a solid technical foundation who is keen to learn, grow, develop their skills, and work directly with clients.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, test, and support machine learning models.
• Analyse, clean, and interpret complex datasets.
• Perform exploratory data analysis and build visualisations.
• Collaborate with Data Scientists, Engineers, and stakeholders.
• Communicate insights to technical and non-technical audiences.
• Support client meetings, workshops, and presentations.

Essential Skills

• 1–3 years' experience in Data Science or a related role.
• Proficiency in Python or R.
• Experience with machine learning libraries such as scikit-learn, TensorFlow, or PyTorch.
• Understanding of statistics, data analysis, and visualisation.
• Strong communication skills and a client-focused mindset.
• A genuine willingness to learn and develop.

Security Clearance: Candidates must meet the eligibility requirements for UK SC clearance but also be a British born national.

Important: This role requires five days onsite in Derby, so candidates must be comfortable with full-time office-based working.
