Data Engineer - Learn Fabric
Overview
Are you a Data Engineer who wants to do more than just build pipelines?
Perhaps you're working with SQL, SSIS or Azure and wondering when you'll get the opportunity to work with newer technologies like Microsoft Fabric?
Or maybe you're already working with modern data platforms but want more variety, more ownership and the opportunity to make a genuine difference to a business?
Either way, this could be worth a conversation.
We're working with a large, established UK organisation that's investing heavily in its data capabilities. They've built a talented data team, adopted Microsoft Fabric as their strategic platform and have an exciting pipeline of projects stretching well into the future.
It’s hybrid. The team meet at the Solihull offices twice a week.
And they're looking for another engineer to join them.
This isn't a role where you'll spend your days maintaining the same pipelines or churning out reports.
You'll work across the data lifecycle, building pipelines, integrating systems, modelling data and helping the business get real value from its information.
There's also the opportunity to gain exposure to application development, Power BI, Oracle technologies and emerging AI solutions.
What are they looking for?
You don't need to know everything. In fact, they're much more interested in your technical foundations, attitude and potential.
Ideally, you'll bring:
- Good SQL skills and experience with ETL processes and data pipelines.
- An understanding of data modelling and data warehousing.
- Experience with Microsoft data technologies, whether that's SSIS, Azure Data Factory or Microsoft Fabric.
- The confidence to engage with stakeholders and understand what they're trying to achieve.
- A genuine appetite to learn new technologies and broaden your skills.
- Why is this worth considering?
You'll be joining a supportive, growing team with access to modern technology, meaningful projects and a clear route into more senior engineering and management positions.
You'll have ownership of your work, direct exposure to the business and the opportunity to develop skills across data engineering, integration, application development and AI.
And importantly, you won't be expected to arrive knowing it all but will benefit from:
- Exposure to Microsoft Fabric and a broad enterprise technology environment.
- Genuine career progression and technical development.
If you're a capable Data Engineer who's ready for a broader, more interesting challenge, I'd love to tell you more.
